Our work

Women and girls

The centre's constitution makes dedicated facilities, activities and services for Muslim women and girls one of its purposes: religious education, spiritual support and community programming, shaped by the women of the community.

Today

  • Jumu'ah. A dedicated women's section is set up for both Friday sessions, with a room divider and its own entrance flow. Volunteers can point you to it.
  • Sisters' halaqas. Study circles for women, most recently Hijab and Social Media: navigating modern struggles, on keeping modesty and identity online. The next is announced on the events page and the Signal group.
  • Ramadan. Taraweeh and the Eid prayers are open to women, with space set aside each night.

What we are building

  • A regular sisters' circle with a settled day and time.
  • Qur'an and Islamic studies classes for girls, and for mothers learning alongside their children.
  • Wellbeing support: confidential guidance, and a point of contact for women who need help, in confidence.

Shape it

This programme will be led by women. If you would like to teach, host, organise or simply say what is needed, write to [email protected] and a sister on the team will reply.
