Ramadan
Ramadan at the centre
Each Ramadan the centre becomes a nightly gathering: Isha and Taraweeh together, the Qur'an completed over the month, Zakat al-Fitr collected and distributed, and two Eid congregations to close it. This page is the pattern; dates and any changes for the coming Ramadan are announced on the Signal group when the month is confirmed.
Nightly prayers
The times above were the pattern in Ramadan 1447 (2026) and are kept consistent so that everyone can plan around work and family. Whether you are a regular or joining for the first time, you are most welcome to share in the blessings of these nightly gatherings. Qiyam in the last ten nights is announced separately.
Eid prayers
Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha prayers are held at the Aperture Building in two congregations, usually an hour apart, so that the growing community has room. Doors open before the first; please arrive at least fifteen minutes early to help the changeover between congregations. The date, as settled by moon-sighting, and the times are confirmed on the Signal group and on the home page notice.
Giving in Ramadan
Zakat al-Fitr
Due from every member of the household before the Eid prayer. The rate is announced each year (in 2026 it was £8 per person) and the collection is distributed to those entitled to it before Eid.
Zakat al-Fitr and ZakatSponsor a night of Taraweeh
£100 covers venue hire, prayer leadership and water for the congregation for one night. A sadaqah with a very direct effect.
Sponsor a nightThe Ramadan appeal
Keeps the prayer services running on the peninsula through the month and beyond: the room, the sound, the welcome.
Give to the appealEvery pound is handled under our Donation Acceptance Policy; Zakat is kept in its own account. For sadaqah towards a permanent home, see the Masjid Fund.
Volunteering in Ramadan
Taraweeh needs the same team Jumu'ah does: set-up, welcome, water, teardown. If you can give an evening a week, say so on the volunteering page.
