Questions people ask
Short answers to the questions we hear most. If yours is not here, ask us.
Coming to pray
When and where is Jumu'ah?
Every Friday at the Prayer Space, The Aperture Building, North Greenwich, in two sessions: the first from 13:00 (khutbah 13:15), the second from 13:30 (khutbah 13:40). Come early; the first fills.
Are the five daily prayers held at the centre?
Only when the room is available. The current position is on the home page notice and the community Signal group. The London prayer timetable is on the prayer times page whatever the room situation.
Is there a women's section?
Yes, at every Jumu'ah, Taraweeh and Eid prayer, with a room divider and its own flow. Ask a volunteer.
Is there somewhere to make wudu?
The building's bathrooms are checked and stocked before each session. Arriving with wudu made saves time when the room is full.
Can I bring children?
Of course. Children are supervised by their parents; a chaired area is set aside for anyone who cannot stand or prostrate easily.
I am not Muslim. Can I visit?
Yes. You are welcome to watch respectfully and to ask questions; a volunteer will explain what is happening. See visiting the centre.
Giving
How do I donate?
Through the donate page (card, by Square), by contactless at the centre, or into a sealed donation box. Trustees and volunteers do not take cash by hand.
What is the Masjid Fund?
A ring-fenced capital fund for a permanent home for the centre on the peninsula. It is never used for running costs. The full case.
Can I pay my Zakat through the centre?
Yes. It is held in a separate account and distributed only to those entitled to it. Zakat, with a calculator.
Can you claim Gift Aid?
Gift Aid lets a UK taxpayer's gift be increased by 25p in the pound at no cost to them. We will claim it once the charity's registration is complete; a declaration form will be on the donate page then. Keep your donation receipts.
Is the centre a registered charity?
It is a charitable trust registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. The number will be published on every page when issued. Governance.

Are you hiring an Imam?
